LESSONS

The drum kit lessons take place during the school day. Lessons are 20 minutes long and taught on a 1:1 basis. A total of 33 lessons are taught over the academic year (September – July). The tuition fees are invoiced directly from Music in Schools UK Ltd to the person who has enrolled the student (parent/carer/school administator). The termly fees must be paid in full before the start of each term.

What should students bring to each lesson?

Students must always bring the following items along to each lesson.

  • Drum Sticks

  • Practise Pad

  • Book

  • Practise Schedule

Students will need their own small note pad (A5) to use as a practise schedule. The drum tutor will note down any new practise tasks for the coming week. This little note pad will help keep the student stay on track practising and allow parents to see progress.

Will students need a drum kit at home?

No, students can practise using a rubber drum pad and have use of the electronic drum kit at their school to practise on. All students are required to own a pair of drum sticks (wood tip), a drum practise pad, music stand (for at home) and the required study material.

All equipment can be purchased from RUBIX DRUMS costing around £65-£80 depending on the makes of the items.

Please feel free to contact us for any advise on drum kit equipment.

WHAT IS THE COST OF LESSONS?

33 x 20 minute 1:1 lessons (taught over the academic year)

  • £445.50
  • £148.50 each term

Fees are requested to be paid before the start of each term. When enrolling for our drum tuition parents are committing their child to study with Drums in Schools for the whole academic year (September  – July) and committed for this period.

Payment Methods

BACS

(Online Banking)
BACS is an electronic system to make payments directly from one bank account to another. They’re mainly used for direct credits from organisations. The payments take 3 working days to clear, so money paid into your account on Monday will clear on Wednesday.

MOBILE PAYMENT

(aka Mobile Money)
Mobile payment (Paym) is used instead of paying with cash, cheque, or credit cards, customers can use a mobile phone to pay for for the music tuition.

Paym – pronounced “pay ’em” – doesn’t have its own smartphone app or website. Instead, it’s part of each bank’s online and mobile banking facilities. Customers need to use mobile phone banking to use this service. Most banks are part of the scheme.

Does the school help fund the drum tuition?

Some schools have a budget to help with music tuition, this is often covered by Pupil Premium. Please contact your School Office or Head of Music to find out if funding is available for your child. Please don’t assume that all pupil premium students will be funded, this will need to be confirmed by the school management team.

How Do Students Enrol?

If your child has the drive and commitment to practise daily and attend the lessons weekly then please complete the Drums in Schools enrolment form and submit it before the end of the Summer Term
